1.Is a PVC elbow fitting. They are used to support the weight of the substrate and eggcrate. 2. Is the eggcrate, it should be cut so that it fits just inside the tank, on top of the elbows. A pice of fiberglass screen, the type used in screen doors, should be cut to the same size and placed on top of it.
